No hard disk temperature/health displayed (IDE/SATA hard disk). What is wrong?
The problem is related to the driver of the storage controller. Hard disk details (for example hard disk serial number, physical information and features) and more information like health and temperature are not displayed because the driver of the hard disk controller does not support the necessary ATA commands. Updating the driver of the disk controller (if there is an updated version available) can help in this situation. This issue is related to the used operating system also. If possible, please try a different version of Windows because of the different driver sets. Older motherboards have better drivers under Windows 2000/XP/2003 and their Vista/Win7 drivers may not be complete. At the other hand (for example with Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3, AHCI) the detection is possible under Windows7 – but not under XP, even with the latest drivers installed.
