Nexus Methodist Church – Who Are We?
We are an inclusive congregation made up of all sorts of people with a breadth of life experiences. Some of us are new to the church and to the faith, others have been Christians or members of the church for longer than we care to remember. Some of us live nearby and some of us travel into the city for worship, work or education. Some of us come to worship when we can and some come to everything. As a diverse, thinking, caring people we seek to be a community wherein God is glorified, lives are transformed, the unconditional love of Christ is practised and the call for justice is sounded. In 2001 Walcot Methodist Church and Claremont Methodist Church joined to form Nexus Methodist Church. The word ‘nexus’ means to bind together and is found at the centre of a word commonly used by Methodists, namely, ‘connexion’. We have retained our two buildings giving us flexibility when it comes to church activities and outreach.
