New Zealand! Which is better North Island or South?
I couldn’t say that one is better than the other. I was born and raised on the east coast of the North Island but I now live in the South Island and I love both islands. They are both so different and each have unique and special things about them. The North Island has the more urban lifestyle, especially in Auckland and Wellington and it also has the geothermal area in the centre. It has slightly more tropical and the coastal towns are beautiful as are the beaches. Also you are more likely to come into contact with the real Maori culture. The South Island has stunning scenery and is a lot vaster with, of course, the mountain ranges. The west coast is wild and primal and beautiful. It is generally a lot colder than the North but this just makes for beautiful winter scenery – snow, ice, hoar frosts (all wonderful as long as you don’t have to leave the house). So neither is “the best”, they are both great in their own way, and combined they make New Zealand a truly special place, and one
