New viruses are created everyday. How can I make sure my PC is protected?
No security program is 100% effective, so I recommend that you "layer" your security with 3 levels:
- Antivirus program – Avast is FREE and does a great job.
- Antimlaware program – A "realtime" program looks for suspicious behavior, try IObit Security 360.
- Firewall – Make sure the Windows firewall is running or try a FREE one, like Comodo Personal Firewall .
** Also, leave your PC on so that virus databases can be updated regularly.
