The LEED exams will be changing soon and it’s in your best interest to become LEED accredited as soon as possible. Here are the top 10 reasons why: 1. Number of Exams: Currently you only have to pass one exam to become a LEED AP. Under the new, LEED AP+ credentialing program you would need to pass two exams (a LEED Green Associate Exam and a LEED AP+ Specialty Exam). 2. Difficulty: The new LEED exams will be more difficult than the current versions with an expected pass rate of only 20%, compared to 34% for the current exams. 3. Lower Exam Fees: The cost of taking a current LEED exam is $300 for USGBC members and $400 for non-members. Under the new credentialing program, the cost of taking the LEED Green Associate Exam will be $150 for USGBC members and $200 for non-members.
