New Orleans is below sea level – what other cities are built below sea level?
There are a few areas that are below sea level. Amsterdam is actually ABOVE sea level (in terms of feet), but not by too much. In the U.S., the only other areas below sea level are the parishes in Louisiana, and the Southeast deserts of California (where the lowest elevation, Death Valley, is at).
