The AYP federal cap process remains the same as 2009, however, additional students are subject to the federal cap. For the 2% cap, students that did not meet the TAKS-Modified (TAKS-M) passing standard in Reading and Mathematics grades 4, 7, and 10 but are projected to meet the standard by TPM are subject to the 2% federal cap. The 1% federal cap includes additional students that did not meet the on TAKS-Alternate (TAKS-Alt) passing standard in Reading and Mathematics grades 3 – 8 and 10 but are on track to meet the TAKS-Alt standard by the TAKS-Alt Growth Measure. *The following questions have been updated to refer to the inclusion of growth in the federal cap process.
