Nevada has a “6 month grace period” to renew a professional license after the expiration date. What is the status of a license during that grace period?
• If you have not renewed your license by the expiration date on the pocket card, your license has expired and you can no longer practice in Nevada until the renewal form and fees are submitted. The 6 month grace period allows you to renew the license by paying the renewal fee plus a $100 late fee without submitting a new application. If a license is not renewed during the grace period, the licensee must submit a new application to the Board for approval. Also required will be a letter stating no engineering or surveying work was done since the license expired. The status of the expired license will also be posted on the Board Roster and on the delinquent list in the Board newsletter. Click here to review NRS 625.395 and NAC 625.410.
