NetVision NPM uses JavaServer Pages (or JSP ) to create reports, this sounds complex and too sophisticated for me. Do I need to learn JSP to use NetVision NPM?
No, we use JSP to allow us to create dynamic reports that are capable of being used for a wide variety of purposes. The same thing could be done with many separate reports, however, having everything in a single report file is much easier to maintain. There is no reason why you have to use JSP for your own custom reports, however, the JSP using in NetVision reports is not difficult to learn and by using it, you can create much a more flexible reporting environment. The reports included with the NetVision NPM application are open and customizable by the NetVision NPM administrator. You are free to examine how the JSP is implemented and you can copy and reuse any of the code contained within them.
