NetLibrary Requires an E-mail Address to Set Up a Personal Account. What if a Patron Doesn Have an E-mail Address?
We have discussed this issue with NetLibrary representatives, who tell us that the e-mail address is only used for customer support issues. NetLibrary reps suggest patrons set up a free web-based e-mail account (like Hotmail) Another alternative is for the patron to enter a false (non-working, not someone else’s!) e-mail account that will “trick the system.” NetLibrary officials tell us they are evaluating the merits of keeping the e-mail field mandatory.
