If you make an effort to use a bag and package size that fills the chamber of your unit, you will find that the vacuum time will be less. Bags vary in thickness as well. The standard thickness of 3mm is adequate for most items. However, thicker bags are available for larger or potentially sharp items such as meat with the bone left in.
