There are two modes for sending Flash media from a server to your computer. One is known as Progressive Download, which sends data from the server to your computer as fast as your connection will allow. In this mode, the download progress bar moves faster than the playback progress pointer. Progressive Download mode is used by such sites as YouTube, FoxNews, ABCNews, CNN, and many others. The other mode is known as Streamed. In this mode a server sends the data to your computer just fast enough to play at normal speed with a small (typically 30 second) buffer to accommodate small fluctuations in the connection speed. If you attempt to play this content faster than normal, you will play through this small buffer and then playback will pause until that buffer is refilled. Unfortunately there is no way for MySpeed to control the download speed of Streamed content.
