A. After a worker has completed the WHMIS education program, the employer should follow-up to confirm the employee has a reasonable understanding of the training material. It is the employer’s responsibility to devise ways to make certain the employee is properly trained. For example, the employer may ask the employee to take a written or oral test, or participate in a practical on the job demonstration (Section 7(3) of WHMIS regulation.
