My wireless phone always interferes with my wireless internet?
Is your cordless phone a 2.4 GHz phone? Is your network wireless-g or n? Wireless-g and 2.4GHz phones share the same 2.4 GHz frequency band and are very prone to RFI interference issues. In which case using 5.8GHz phone is less likely to have RFI from wireless-g. But, may be more prone if using wireless-n. DECT 6.0 phones (1.9 GHz band) are the least likely phones to experience RFI conflicts with wireless-g/n networks. In either case, the cordless phones you are using (including the base unit) should be at least 1 meter away from your wireless router or the wireless network card antenna in your PC to reduce RFI effects. You can do a proof-positive test by unplugging and power-off all cordless phones and base units. Then test with a “corded” phone. If the problem goes away, it is a cordless phone issue. And, of course, if you are using DSL Internet, make sure DSL Filters are correctly installed in-line with each cordless phone Base Unit.
