My wheel rim has got a ding in it caused by riding up a kerb. Will it cause problems?
Depends in how big the ding is. Badly damaged rims will prevent the tyre sitting correctly in the well of the rim, leading to loss of pressure and – in the worst case – the tyre creeping until it rips out the valve. There are specialists who can successfully repair a dented wheel rim – and at a fraction of the cost of a new wheel.
