My Verizon Q 9c will not receive GPS signals using IntelliGolf. Why not?

Unfortunately, it appears that Verizon 9 (only) has “disabled” the ability for 3rd-party applications to access the GPS chip in the Motorola Q 9c including Windows Live, Google Maps, IntelliGolf, etc :-(. You can read an article on this by clicking here and skimming about 2/3rds of the way down the article. As such, that would explain why you are receiving the message “GPS data is not received for your current device settings”. Unfortunately, there is nothing that we can do about this Verizon decision. As such, your alternatives would be to 1) add an external GPS (Bluetooth GPS receiver) to your Motorola Q 9c (see Section III at http://www.intelligolf.com/intelligpscert.asp ), or get another carrier (we use AT&T here and our Q 9h works great), or wait until someone comes up with a hack that gets around this issue (per the bottom of this article). I wish that there was something else that I could tell you, but unfortunately this Verizon decision is out of our control :-(.
