Lack of power and miss on acceleration is often a sign of lower than normal fuel pressure or volume. The simplest problem would be a restricted fuel filter. A weak fuel pump or bad fuel pressure regulator will also cause the same symptoms. Test driving with a fuel pressure gauge attached will indicate if this is the problem. Restricted exhaust, from a plugged catalytic converter or muffler can also cause a similar symptom. Testing the exhaust back pressure is the best way to determine if a restriction exist.
