My terminals have a crusty white powder on them. What is it?
This is lead sulfate and is generally caused by overfilling your batteries, resulting in overflow during driving or charging. Wearing gloves, take diluted ammonia or baking soda and gently rinse the terminals. Be sure to rinse your driveway or flooring thoroughly after cleaning. These chemicals will produce stains that won’t come out.
