In certain circumstances, both the Telit SAT550 and SAT551 handsets will lose signal and be unable to regain it. Telit and Globalstar are currently working on the solution for this lose of satellite signal issue, and have provided the following alternative work-arounds for anyone experiencing this problem. • Re-cycle the power of the Handset. • Switch from Globalstar to GSM to Globalstar, by pressing the satellite button on the Handset. • Place the Handset in ‘GSM Preferred Mode’. The Handset will power up in GSM mode, the user can switch to Globalstar mode immediately by pressing the satellite button. While Telit and Globalstar report that the latest SAT550 software version 7.5.4 does not provides a fix for the problem, it is recommended that you upgrade your handset to the latest software version. This upgrade can be performed by your handset supplier.
