Well pretty much if you didn’t keep the tadpole in a normal fish tank with a filter, it’s due to the metal, the lack of filtration and probably lack of food. Tadpoles have gills just like fish, which require running water to be moving through the kills. Also, the metal isn’t a good idea for obvious reasons.
