My System is acting funny and I don have a virus, what is wrong?

“Your network is as secure as your most unprotected, connected computer.” I had a person call me who gets our emails and knows about updating definitions and keeping things current. She kept all of the systems in their office current with the definitions, at least the ones “permanently” connected to the network. When she called me she described virus like problems, but she didn’t have any. We discovered that the one system that she didn’t have control over was her boss’s Laptop, which he took with him when he was out of the office. He came in the office, connected to the network and also a shared folder on her system. He then opened the wrong attachment and it was let loose. He knew he did something wrong when it made a very strange ( I hate to use the word funny) noise. He was trying to turn off the system, but the damage was done by then. Make sure that everyone connected to the network or your PC is also current on the definitions. I know of a Medical Center in New England that was
