Investigators who do not have a paid contract with an NHS body, who are conducting research in NHS patients or staff, their organs, tissue or data, must have a valid honorary contract/Research Passport with the participating NHS Trust(s), in which will be working. NHS employees who wish to undertake research at UCL must have a UCL honorary contract, issued by UCL Human Resources. Who should sign the Declaration by the Sponsor’s Representative: D2 of the IRAS NHS REC application form. The Declaration will be signed by the authorised personnel at the Joint Unit once the applicable requirements for project registration and sponsorship are met.
