My student is not working on an externally funded project. What are the implications of the IP Statute with regard to the intellectual property my student has created?
In this situation the University would make no claim over the intellectual property created by your student. Your student would, in principle, have rights to the intellectual property that was created during the course of their project. One must appreciate, however, the important role played by supervisors in the development of that intellectual property.
