my stihl brush cutter will not stop when I slide to control to stop
Hello Paulstreet
I’ve found that it is very seldom the slide or switch mechanism that causes this problem. The first place I would suggest you start looking is the cable running to your carburettor; sometimes it collects dirt and then blocks its sliding action. Petrol usually cleans out the mess effectively.
If it is not the cable, your job can become a little more intricate. Inside your carburettor under the primer nodule there is a black needle and seat unit, there might be dirt in the diaphragm that causes the seat to stay open when you release the throttle
I hope this helps you out
