My Sport Cap 2.0 makes a whistling or chirping sound. How do I make it stop?
Sports caps were originally designed and used with squeezable plastic drinking bottles. Because you cannot squeeze stainless steel, we had to alter the design so that air could get back into the bottle as you drink. The little white dot on the top of the Sport Cap 2.O is a leak-resistant silicone valve, which allows air back into the bottle so water can flow out. The noise that you hear is air moving through the valve. Older sport caps do make a whistling noise when used. While the Sport Cap 2.0 is significantly quieter than the old sport caps, it still makes a little bit of noise as air passes through the valve into the bottle. But if your Sport Cap 2.0 is making a loud chirping or whistling noise, the silicone valve may be in the wrong position or may be dirty or clogged. You can remove the valve and clean it, but it’s very difficult to put it back.
