My Sony DCR-SR200 handycam causes Vegas Pro 9 to hang if its connected while starting the application. Is the DCR-SR200 unsupported?
There are no known issues with this camcorder. Use the Device Explorer window to import clips from this camera. To open the Device Explorer, choose View | Device Explorer. If you’re still having trouble, a good strategy for troubleshooting hardware and software issues is to try removing as many variables from the problem as possible and test from the ground up. For example, try removing all other peripheral hardware from your PC (anything other than your keyboard, monitor and mouse). Also, try disabling non-critical software, services and startup applications within Windows. After disabling non-critical hardware and software, connect your camcorder and open Vegas. If that fails, try testing with your camcorder on a different PC or try testing with a different camcorder on your current PC. Eventually, after testing these variables, you will likely find the culprit and be able to take action to resolve the issue.
