My sons online persona is a girl. Is it ethical for him to accept gifts from men?
Ok, if I understand the situation correctly, you’re saying that your son’s online gaming character is female, and other male characters are giving his character items, online gaming currency, etc? That happens ALL THE TIME : P It has been happening for over a decade with online games… It’s been estimated that something like 70% of all female characters are actually men, and it’s very commonplace for men (for some reason) to act towards female characters honestly as if they were women on the other end (despite the overwhelming statistics to the contrary)… It’s not really unethical unless your son is actively trying to deceive people into believing he is a she, which is not really the case with the vast majority of female gaming characters played by men. ^ Actually, if he is receiving REAL gifts from these people, that is most likely unethical unless the people sending them KNOW that he’s a guy, etc. ***** Side-note: You have put this into the ‘Role-Playing’ section so I’ll give a se
