My son or daughter has talked about getting a strike. Whats a strike?
A “strike” is a common term among students that refers to results of a guilty judicial case. In each incident where a student is found (or pleads) guilty of violating the Code of Conduct, he or she will receive sanctions for that violation. It is the practice of the University judicial system to suspend a student after three such incidents. In addition, some serious violations (violence, driving under the influence) result in more severe sanctions, including suspension or expulsion from the University, even without any prior violations. A record of all guilty judicial violations remains in a student’s file even after the term of the sanction has expired, and is considered when sanctioning subsequent cases of Code of Conduct violations.
