My son has a mild hearing loss – can he still get a radio aid to help him in school?
The NDCS recommends that all children with a hearing loss should be given the opportunity to try a radio aid, regardless of the degree or type of hearing loss, if this would help them in class. There are also other solutions that can be used in class to help that may also be suitable. It might be that your child’s teacher needs some advice about hearing loss and how this will affect your son or maybe another piece of technology will be suitable, for example a soundfield system. Have a chat with your teacher of the deaf or SENCO (special educational needs co-ordinator) at school.
