My Skywatch is giving me erratic readings, why?

The speed measurement is based on magnetic transmission. The turning impeller creates a magnetic field that is detected in the windmeter. If the windmeter is close to another magnetic field (computer, power line, electronics, appliances) it may display erratic results (numbers jumping around) when the windmeter is not in use or the impeller is not turning.
