No you don’t need to count every single one. It was decided very early in the Seagrass-Watch program, after examining the faunal data and consulting with participants, that forams (and ascidians/sea squirts) only need to be recorded as present/absent. Early analysis found that abundances varied greatly between quadrats and it was time consuming to record counts in the field. Please do not use > or < symbols.
