Most elementary and high school art classes don’t. But more and more, high school art teachers and librarians are valuing manga, comics and cartooning as art forms. However, not many of the art teachers themselves draw it with much proficiency, although they may be excellent watercolorists, oi painters and such. However, once you get into college, especially if it’s an art college, this changes dramatically, like a seismic shift. This is because you are much more likely to have commercial artists among your art instructors, as well as fine artists. In addition, you’ll begin networking with tons of other students who, you’ll find, have the same aspirations you do. And they’re talented, too. You’ll learn from them; and they from you. You’ll push each other on, like duelists, battling with inspiration.
