No. These filtering products attempt to prevent students from visiting websites from which they can download MSN or other software onto school computers. However, there are so many ‘mirror’ sites that provide alternative sources (not to mention students who download it from their home computers or simply bring the software in on floppies or CDs) that keeping the software out is virtually impossible. BlockMSN reliably prevents MSN from running regardless of how clever students are at finding ways to load the software.
