A vet can evaluate the tumor & treat the respiratory infection. One of our rats just had a tumor removed this morning & our vet made me feel *much* less anxious by letting us know that they perform this surgery on a regular basis. Depending on the size and type of the growth, and the overall health of your rat, your vet can help you decide what’s best for your pet. Most rats currently live between 2-3 years but with proper care, good genes & some luck they can enjoy considerably longer lives. Good Luck!
