My question is Oscar, our veteran, eventually get used to Fritz (newcomer), or do we need to separate them now before any real damage occurs/their own health and happiness?

Oh, they live in a 29 gallon (long) tank for now. Oscar is a little bigger than Fritz (approx. 3-4″); Fritz is the same size Oscar was when we bought him a month or so ago. We are cycling a 55 gallon tank before we add any fish. Both of them have eaten well since Fritz arrived. Fritz acts totally normal besides being a little more active than usual, which I’m guessing is due to his new home. It’s Oscar that all freaked out. Thank you!!! Kim
