My question is, can i use these named groups to select the cps to be associated to a particular bone?
Well, at worst, you can do the following: • Switch to muscle mode. • Press Return to clear any selections. • Press ‘H’ to reveal all points (if hidden). • Click in the workspace to select your named group. • Press ‘H’ to hide all other points. • Switch to Bones mode. • Select the bone you want to assign. • Press ‘G’ to go to group mode. • Select everything visible (which will be only the points in your named group). • Repeat. Another possibility (which I haven’t tried) is that you might attempt to Shift-Click on the named group, while you have the bone selected. I have no -real- persuasive reason to believe that it will work, but I have no reason to believe that it won’t.
