My printing is unacceptably light, smeared or missing dots, but the Mac says my cartridges are full – what can I do? Epson 740 / 850
First, a note of caution: Never remove the ink cartridges once they have been installed unless you plan on replacing them. Installing them breaks a seal allowing the ink to flow. Removing the cartridges breaks the seal (which may be airtight) and also allows the ink to possibly link. Second, a note of advice, never believe the Mac when it tells you that the cartridges in your Epson are full. If you did remove and reinstall the same cartridge, the printer doesn t know the difference and will assume it s a new cartridge and show you that it is full. It lies because it doesn t know any better.
