My plain steel spokes are dull and rough. How can I make them look better?
A. First, use Miracle Metal Polish applied to 00 or 000 steel wool. Rub with moderate pressure until steel wool slides easily over the spoke. Let compound dry for a few minutes, then buff — cloth will turn black as oxidation is removed. Repeat until cloth does not pick up more black residue. If spokes are extremely corroded, apply BLACK OUT to give them a low luster and prevent further oxidation.
