My pencil mechanism/click pen is too long and will not fit completely inside the assembly. What is wrong with my pen/pencil kit?

There was nothing initially wrong with your kit. What has happened is that when you trimmed the ends of your blanks you trimmed off too far down on the brass. There are four ends to trim and just a bit off of each end adds up to too short. Make sure you do not trim ANY brass.
