No. The items used in the kit are commonly found in any clinical chemistry lab. Be sure to provide the lab with an instruction sheet that describes how blood must be drawn (including the supplies needed) and the individual bar code that must accompany the patient’s blood sample. To obtain the individual bar code, log into the Web site and follow the steps to submit a test request for your patient. Please make sure to turn off your Web browser’s pop-up blocker so you can view and print the bar code for the outside lab. Give these items to your patient, along with a list of the labs in his/her insurance plan. The patient will give the forms to the lab when he or she has blood drawn; the lab will then simply mail the bar-coded sample to TDM for analysis.
