My parent was denied the Parent PLUS Loan. How do I access the Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan I am not eligible for?
If you indicated on the Parent PLUS Application that you wanted the Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan processed in the case of a denial, we will process it for you as requested. Otherwise, you will need to contact the NIU Student Financial Aid Office to let us know you would like this loan. You may send us an e-mail from your NIU Z-ID e-mail, write us a letter, or stop by the office to request a loan be processed. Be sure to include in all communication your full name, Z-ID, sign and date the request.
