You should file a complaint with City Central, which will turn the overgrown property complaint over to Code Enforcement. That staff has three working days to make an inspection. If the property is found to be in violation, a written certified letter is sent to the property owner. Once the property owner receives the certified letter, he/she is given seven days to get the property mowed and brought into compliance. If the property owner is negligent, a lien can be placed on the property and the City has the property mowed. This process takes an average of six to eight weeks.
