My neighbor never has any weeds – what are they doing right?
They are putting down pre-emergent weed preventer during the proper months of the year. Try this pre-emergent schedule:WEED CONTROL SCHEDULE – 3 times a year 1February – March (Valentines Day)Pre-emergent with Amaze, Betasan, Balan or Treflan to prevent grassy weeds from popping up late in the spring and summer.2May – June (Memorial Day)1. Ditto of Valentines Day application. Keeps fall weeds from invading from August on. 2. Use a Weed & Feed to fertilize your grass and kill existing broadleaf weeds.3October – November (Halloween)Use two (2) different pre-emergent herbicides, to prevent the weeds that we experience in February and March the following year. There are also 2-in-1 pre-emergents like Barricade, Dimension or Pendimethlin. 1a. Pre-emergent with Portrait or Gallery for broadleaf weeds like clover. -or- 1b.Use aWeed & Feed tofertilize your grass and kill broadleaf weeds. 2.
