Brit … Bris … Mohel … Moyel … It really doesn’t matter how you say it; Bris is the Ashkenazic way to pronounce it and Brit is the Sefardic way and Israeli way to pronounce it. Moyel is simply a “yiddishised” pronounciation of the Hebrew word Mohel, meaning “circumcisor”. But don’t argue with your grandmother. She has been waiting a long time for this joyous occasion.
