If an application is not available for the XSCALE cpu you can also use the ARM (StrongARM) version of it. XSCALE cpu’s also understand ARM instructions. My newer applications (e.g. MemInfo.NET, Rosebud, Voyager) are developed with the .NET CF and in this case you need not care about it.
