• First off (and this applies equally to WIRED and WIRELESS Networks) to get GB-PVR working without running the Hauppauge services enabled, it will need an IP address assigned to it by a DHCP server. • If you use a Router, your router can provide the MediaMVP an IP address (provided “enable DHCP” is switched on in the Router’s Config). • If you have already set up your HTPC as a Router, it also acts as a DHCP-server and will assign the MediaMVP an IP Address. For this setup, GB-PVR will be able to boot the MediaMVP. • If your HTPC is just a normal PC, the MediaMVP somehow needs to get an IP-address for GB-PVR to be able to boot it. The Hauppauge MediaMVP-software, if installed with the services running, normally takes care of the IP Address itself, as it has a DHCP Server Built in.
