My instructor said to pick a “good” password. Whats that?
A password should not be based on a regular English dictionary word. It should have a mix of upper and lower case, numbers, and punctuation. It should be easy to remember. For example, a password like “snoopy” is bad (dictionary word, no mixed case, no punctuation). An easy way to pick a complicated password is to base it on a phrase, a song lyric, or a poem that you know very well. For example, say I like Tolkien: Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, I’d substitute the numeral 3, keep capitalization, and punctuation and get: 3RftE-kuts, That’s a good password that I can easily remember. After I type it a few dozen times, my fingers will remember.
