To leave your husband’s SIN as blank, you should not use Joint Return option. Since the option is for couples who both file returns. In your case, please uncheck the box in the Joint Return section on the Family Information page. After then, you should find a link read “Spouse Information Worksheet” under the Instruction section in the lower part of Family Information page. You may enter your spouse’s date of birth etc info. Also, you need to chose “Yes” for the line 5527 on my NETFILE page.
