Probably yes, I’m sorry to say, although its worth running the contract and guarantee through a solicitor or citizens advice to see if you can obtain some compensation, although with our experience in helping others in a similar position, this is unlikely. Check all documentation though as there may have been warranty insurance provided by the contractor, although with our experience, this is EXTREMELY hard to claim back on. This has been a common problem in the UK exterior wallcoating business for many years. The best course of action would be contact another wallcoating company, explain the problem to them, and maybe if applicable, get them to come around and take a look. (NOTE: There may be a small charge for this service). For any remedial work on a coating, most if not all textured coating companies will charge you for doing the work, and if it’s a small area, they may be a hefty premium to pay.
