My HMO offers coverage of vision exams and glasses. Why should I enroll in a separate vision care program?
A. Beginning January 1, 2010, BlueChoice HealthPlan and CIGNA HMO will no longer offer vision care benefits to their members covered through EIP. They will continue to cover medically necessary treatment of the eyes. Q. I am enrolled in a vision care plan through my employer. How will it be affected? A. Employers may continue to offer vision care insurance that is not provided through EIP. However, only premiums for EIP’s State Vision Plan may be paid through the MoneyPlu$ Pretax Group Insurance Premium Feature.
